This links to a blog that I used to run back when I lived and worked in South Korea as a native English teacher and as a teacher educator. I worked for two years in an academic high school in the outskirts of Mokpo (목포), as well as in a teaching training center located in Yeosu (여수). In Mokpo (목포), I primarily led speaking-based English lessons among high school students, and at the teacher training center I primarily focused on listening and speaking skills and methodological conversations, as well as running English camps with a diverse group of learners ranging from elementary school students to principals and vice principals.
This site therefore does not speak in an academic tone, as it is a website that I developed before starting my graduate studies and the other. However, it does provide insight into my experiences living abroad and the transformation that I underwent — what I might call my first metamorphosis — living in a foreign country and therefore developing a relationship not only with Korea as my second home, but also my relationship with the United States as an alternative cultural reference point.
